Resurrection Moments: The Empty Grave

Happy Resurrection afterglow family and friends!  I am so grateful to celebrate the resurrection of Christ!  It is the Superbowl of the Christian faith! Even though I know the story, I get invited into it deeper and deeper each time I reflect and celebrate.  It is my hope that this past Resurrection/Easter Sunday for you was a faith building moment!  I love my family and I love my church is the greatest way to reflect on this past week and weekend.

Chip’s First Resurrection Sunday
CJ Easter 2016

One person called Resurrection Sunday “Family Coordinated Outfit Day”!  Ha, I got a kick out of it, and love the fact that it gives us an excuse to dress up and take awesome pictures.  This was Chip’s first Easter and he was ready for the camera! My family I snapped a family selfie… I AM SO GRATEFUL for my wife and children.

Good Friday Service and Baptisms…

2016 BaptismWe had the wonderful opportunity to baptize 20 people this past Friday.   What a humbling and invigorating opportunity to witness people making bold public declaration of their faith!  I am excited for the families and campuses that will be changed because of their decision!

The Empty Cross, The Empty Grave, and the Empty Clothes…
This by far was the best Resurrection Sunday service DUCC has ever had! We set a faith goal to reach 500 people for this service, and we had 512!!!!

DUCC 2016 EasterOf course there is a spike in attendance, but what I am most grateful for is the opportunity to have all 3 of our services combined into one big service together.  You could feel the energy in the room, and it was so good for people to see people that normally go to different services!

Special shout out to our Drama Team, Volunteers, and Worship team who helped so many of us have a transformative worship experience!

TAG TEAM!

DSC_1488FPastor AJ and I love this time of  year because we have the opportunity to tag team preach! It was so much fun… and most of all POWERFUL! I am grateful to have him as a friend and co-laborer in the work God has called us to at DUCC.

unnamed (2)Last but not least… we are offering a very cool leadership development opportunity here at DUCC this upcoming Saturday from 10am-12noon.   This will be our 2nd Project 58 session… so if you are in the midst of discovering what’s the next big thing in your walk with God and your ministry you definitely want to be there!

Serving the Lord with gladness,

Pastor Chris Sr.
