Monday Moments: I’m Back

What’s up family and friends! It has been a long time since I have shared Monday Moments. I took some time from it to focus on a few other things.  But here is what the Johnson House is up to:

1472943392591_4910589478_90edcfbaChip is about to turn 1 year old, starting to walk, and is as cute as ever! Chloe has been a great big sister, and seeing them play together is priceless.

Cherelle has been on the grind.  Now a she is a Certified CMI BBS PicLeadership & Life coach, and just hosted her first Beauty & Business Seminar, a day of encouraging entrepreneurial women to network and maximize their business.  My wife is a rock star!

Both Chloe and I have started school this year.

Chloe kicked off her School Chloefirst year of preschool a this year.  This little girl has been super excited to go to school everyday!

IMG-20160831-WA0002In an effort to maximize my potential, serve the church in greater capacity, and set an example for my children I have started a Doctor of Ministry program at Asbury Theological Seminary, where my concentration is in Preaching and Leading.  Asbury Theological Seminary is a great institution that encourages men and women of God to ATTEMPT SOMETHING BIG!  ItDMin Class has been one of the most renewing experiences to date.   I am also blessed to go through this process with some amazing leaders from our Every Nation Church Family.  We have been self proclaimed as the Asbury 8.   Along with the Asbury 8, I am scheduled to be a part  of the Class of 2019!  I would have never thought that I would be pursuing a third degree.   #DrChristopherJohnsonSr.

We have been in a harvesting season at DUCC. We just kicked off New Service Times- 8-30am%2F10am%2F11-45amwith 3 new service times.  Last year when we transitioned to 3 services, it didn’t seem that we had the most optimal times.  One service continued to overflow, while another did not experience much growth.  Based on what we saw yesterday we may have found the best 3 service times for us.  Yesterday we had a record high attendance for a non holiday service.  God has been opening some awesome doors for us in this city and on the campuses.  A few weeks ago we were fortunate enough to host the entire JMU Football team at one of our morning services, and it is just another reminder to us about the work God is doing at DUCC.  I am reminded that we are simply a small part of God’s big plan.  Time to see DRY BONES LIVE AGAIN!

Until we are able to build our new sanctuary we will remain with 3 services to accommodate the growth and attendance.  Due to rapid growth and limited space, we are hosting 3 services, but we are excited to announce that we just kicked off a new building campaign for a new sanctuary and renovated children’s space.  This major renovation will give us a sanctuary that seats 350, more bathrooms, updated audio/visual systems, and more.  To learn more about this project and how you can get involved take a look at this video to find out Checkout this video beneath or click here..

Gladly serving,
